Water Purification by Potassium Humate–C.I. Basic Blue 3 Adsorption-Based Interactions

چکیده
Interactions of C.I. Basic Blue 3 with potassium humate in aqueous systems were investigated. Both the humic content and dye removal are crucial significance relation to water a desired quality. Dye retention experiments demonstrated that is an exceptionally efficient adsorbent. The effect both pH temperature on adsorption process was proved only slightly influence extent sorption; contrarily, under mildly acidic conditions (pH = 4.0), quantity adsorbed doubled standing. At this value, interactions between positively charged dissociated carboxyl groups substances encountered. This also supported by obedience experimental data pseudo-second-order kinetic model. Three models, i.e., Langmuir, Freundlich BET, fitted data; equilibrium conformed Langmuir BET isotherm equations basis electrostatic dye–humics interactions, while fitting model referred heterogeneities attributed their colloidal behavior. Thermodynamic quantities, enthalpy, entropy free energy change adsorption, calculated. low ?Hads? values verify negligible adsorption; ?Sads? denotes thermodynamically favorable reaction, ?Gads? spontaneous process.

Enhancing Purification of Surface Water by Potassium Permanganate Addition
The aim of the present research is studying the effect of potassium permanganate addition on the pre-oxidation and coagulation of the surface water. River Nile and El Rayah El Tawfeky of Benha city, Egypt were the surface water supply used in this research. The results showed that El Rayah El Tawfeky raw water had higher turbidity concentration and humic acids absorbance (8.5 NTU and 0.024, res...

In this study, oxidative discoloration of Basic blue3 (B.B3) and Disperse blue56 (D.B56) dyes in synthetic textile wastewater has been studied using Fenton (Fe2+/H2 O2 ) process. The Fenton’s technique showed satisfactory color removal efficiency. The operating parameters such as concentration of Fe2+, dose of H2 O2 , initial concentration of dye, time contact, initial volume of wastewater that...
متن کاملAdsorption of Methylene Blue from Aqueous Solutions by Silk Cocoon
This study concerns the performance of cocoons spun by silk worms as a natural adsorbent for removal of Methylene Blue (MB) from aqueous solutions. To study the adsorption process, the effect of various parameters such as contact time, adsorbent dosage, dye initial concentration, and pH of the solution were investigated. According to the experiments, the kinetic data were best described by ...
متن کاملAdsorption of Basic Blue 41 from Aqueous Solution onto Coconut Fiber Particles
In this research, adsorption experiments were carried out for removal of Basic Blue 41(BB41) dye from an aqueous solution, using coconut fiber particles (CFP) as a low-cost biosorbent. The characteristics of coconut fiber particles weredeterminedwith a scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM) and Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) techniques. The effects of initial pH, biosorbentdose, contact time,...
